Requirements for obtaining a German study visa
Requirements for admission to higher education / attendance at a pre-university college (Studienkolleg):
A document of previous education (*university diploma, school certificate) or a certificate from a current higher education institution.
Proof of language knowledge at B2/C1 level. Language knowledge can be confirmed by recognized certificates (e.g. issued by Goethe-Institut e.V., Austrian Cultural Forum, TestDaf-Institut, ECL examination center, DSH, das Deutsche Sprachdiplom KMK). English language skills can be confirmed by sufficient IELTS or TOEFL scores.
Proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the entire period of study in the amount of 1,027,- euros per month. For this type of visa it is necessary to demonstrate the availability of funds for 1 year - at least 11,208 euros for one year of study.
Confirmation of the language level required for study: it can be either English for English-speaking program or German. As a rule, the benchmark is at least B2 level, but the specific requirements are set by the university and they can be higher.
Requirements for intensive language courses:
Proof of payment for an intensive language course at a language school (due to the difficulty of payment from a number of countries, we facilitate payment). An intensive course requires a minimum of 18 hours per week. Evening and weekend classes are not sufficient.
Proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the entire period of study in the amount of 1,027 euros per month. For this type of visa it is sufficient to initially demonstrate the amount for 3 months of residence.
